This scarf is a bold study in stripes. Half of the oversized scarf is a burst of colors, starting with "gotcha pink" and including "button jar blue", "tastes like purple", "varsity red" and "prettiest petal", to name a few of the hand dyed colorways. The other half of the scarf is a perfect juxtaposition, comprised of two color stripes of "cottage white" and "steel gray". I loved knitting this piece as it was a true collaboration between knitter and hand dyers of yarn, whose work I greatly admire.
I must tell you a bit about the stitch used to make this scarf. It is called brioche - 'tis true! It's not just for breakfast! This wonderful technique yields a delightfully dense, yet perfect drapey, piece. Essentially, the way the knitting works is you knit each row of the fabric twice. This labor of love produces a wrap that has a Squish Factor of 11 and is sure to keep the wearer snuggly warm in the most eye-catching of ways!

Carefully hand wash and rinse in cold water using a wool wash. Do not mix with other garments. Do not agitate excessively or expose to temperature extremes, or the wool could felt. Gently press (not wring!) out excess water with a towel and dry flat in the original shape. Do not hang to dry.
