Four Squared was inspired by modern, colorful quilting. I chose the name Four Squared because each square never has more than 16 stitches active at any given time. And it is a nod to a favorite childhood game I loved to play - Four Square! The result is a refreshing, modern update on knitted blankets.

My blanket is perfectly sized for a baby, but could easily be modified for a larger size by using heavier yarn or adding more squares.

I used 3 skeins of Madelinetosh Twist Light in Farmhouse White and another 1,200 yards of contrast yarn for the accent colors. This is a perfect project to use up those scraps!

Two US 3 needles, a crochet hook, a sewing needle are needed to complete this project. A blocking mat and pins are useful, but not required.

Gauge is not required for this project, but not matching the suggested gauge could impact yardage requirements.
