Personalizing your knitting with monograms, messages, mottos and more is possible by embroidering lettering onto stockinette. This tutorial includes two approaches to upcycle your knitted pieces, whether they’ve been made by hand or sourced from your closet. It’s a wonderful way to take a simple staple and make it truly reflect your personality!

In addition, to demonstrate how to execute the two different techniques, I used a simple stockinette swatch to stitch the word “blue”. If you wish to do the same, I included the instructions for the swatch on page 10.
And as a bonus, I’ve included a starter set of upper and lower case letters that are ready to embroider. Feel free to use them as is or modify them to fit your canvas and style!
