My Next Hat Canvas is a simple knit which yields a beautiful stockinette canvas, perfect for embroidery, such as these two Zig Zag patterns. Zig Zag 1 is perfect for fluffier yarns, such as Kokon Chunky Mohair, in that the split between zigs and zags is more pronounced. Zig Zag 2 is a bit more subtle, a great choice for high twist or single-ply yarns.
The pattern begins with the straightforward instructions for a hat, knit in the round. Written and charted embroidery instructions are then provided for Zig Zag 1, as well as tips and tricks for preventing the brim from becoming too snug due to the embroidery. The instructions for Zig Zag 2 are charted, following the same methodology as Zig Zag 1.
Tips and techniques are included in the pattern on how to prevent the hat from becoming too tight around the brim with the addition of embroidery.
